The Department of Music provides a vibrant, dynamic, and innovative
environment in which to develop skills as a performer, composer,
and scholar.
Led by a comprehensive faculty of more than sixty nationally and
internationally recognized artists and researchers, undergraduate and
graduate students experience a rich diversity of performance and
academic opportunities. Our approach to teaching and learning
encompasses the intersections of scholarship and performance, which
lies at the heart of the objective of our curriculum. True to the spirit of a liberal arts university, our program embraces
music majors and minors, and also welcomes the participation of students
drawn from every discipline across the campus.
